THE SUMMARY
Dr. Williams’ primary medical specialty is Adult Neurology. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Williams’ clinical practice for over 20 years has been as a Sports Neurology and Pain Medicine specialist within the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic (now known as Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute). He is the Founding Director of the Kerlan-Jobe Center for Sports Neurology and Pain Medicine and the Kerlan-Jobe Sports Neurology and Pain Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Williams focuses his practice on Concussion/Traumatic Head Injury, Pain Medicine, Headache Management, Minimally Invasive Interventional Procedures for the Spine, CRPS, Neuropathic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Medication Overuse, Failed Spine Surgery Syndrome, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Electrodiagnostic Testing, and Cosmetic Neurology (Neurologically Oriented Peak Performance.)
Kerlan-Jobe is a leading sports medicine clinic in Los Angeles, where they are team physicians to several elite and professional organizations. Dr. Williams’ serves as Team Neurologist for the Los Angeles Rams. He is a Consulting Sports Neurologist to a number of professional and elite athletes, sports agency firms, professional sports leagues, and teams on a national level. Locally, Dr. Williams is a consultant to the Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, Angels, Sparks and Anaheim Ducks professional sports organizations. He also provides Sports Neurology consultation services and/or team physician services to Loyola University, Occidental College, West Los Angeles College, Fullerton College, and several high school and youth sports clubs and organizations. Dr. Williams also serves an inaugural member of the Peloton Health and Wellness Advisory Council.
Dr. Williams received a Gubernatorial appointment and served two terms on the California State Athletic Commission, which is charged with the safety and regulation of all combat sports activities in the State of California. He also completed two terms as Chair of the American Academy of Neurology Section on Sports Neurology and is a former Councilor of the American Academy of Neurology Section on Pain and Palliative Care. Dr. Williams a frequent course director and lecturer at the American Academy of Neurology Annual meeting and other national meetings on subjects related to Sports Neurology and Pain Medicine. He is a community lecturer, media consultant, and educator on topics related to clinical management of spine injury, pain medicine, and concussive injury.
